SCIENCE BLOG--PHYSICS, ETC.
David Harris' Science News News and commentary on the latest science research and issues, specializing in physical sciences. Science may not be mainstream in some peoples' minds, but it ought to be. Here is a place to start. Not sure if it will lead you to think like a scientist or physicist, but might get you a ways away from thinking like somebody like the ever-minor Bush. This happens to be the first blog I have added here that is set up under the umbrella of Salon and Radioland. That is also news of a sort.

SAM'S BLOG MAY NOT BE MAINSTREAM, BUT IT SHOULD BE
SLOG (Sam's Log) Sam Snedegar can get off the track. He is almost always vulgar and in-your-face direct. BUT ..Read his comments on ever-minor Bush and
the oil bidness. Is Shrub corrupt, ignorant and stupid, or all of these? Take
a look. I think Sam has this pretty well nailed down. ---------- Doug Wiken

INSTAPUNDIT BY GLENN REYNOLDS.
InstaPundit.Com His site has comments from Pravda--" The New York Times of the bloggers" and from the American Journalism Review=="The Grand Central Station of Bloggerville".
I had this blogger ready to put into my list weeks ago, but my computer locked up or blogger or blogspote was on the fritz that day and it never made it in here. A poster in Salon TT reminded me of it. Thanks. Take a look
at it. It has a reputation. ----- Doug Wiken.

ECONONBLOG--THE BLOG OF RECORD FOR THE DISMAL SCIENCE
Econoblog: The Blog of Record for the Dismal Science This blog does not appear to be updated very often, but does have some interesting posts. It is also a bit different in appearance than most blogs we see. But, take a look at the links to blogs of Jane Galt,
Mindles H. Dreck, etc in the "Brought to You By" area. I don't know if anything involving Economics can be Mainstream or common sense, but check this blog anyway. --- Doug Wiken

ALSO NOT FOUND IN NATURE...WHAT? BLOGS ARE UNNATURAL?
[ also not found in nature - a weblog ] Owner's description of blog---
'also not found in nature' is a weblog I have maintained, in one form or other, since November 1999.
I tend to blog with an emphasis on hard news, public policy issues, and developments in science and technology.((((((( This is apparently a British blog with a a lot of attention to US news and world news as it relates to US
policies....looks like it qualifies for a common sense designation. Take a look at his "LINK FARM"..hundreds of good links --- Doug Wiken.

NOT MUCH COMMON SENSE HERE, BUT USUALLY INTERESTING EVEN IF OUT OF PHASE WITH REALITY BY ABOUT 90 DEGREES
Elephant Rants and Raves by Justin Bollinger is usually interesting even if sometimes truly unintentionally funny enough to be satire in the Onion. Take a look anyway. Justin seems to have a good enough sense of humor about comments even if he rants and raves. I suspect his site is a bit like a canary in a coal mine. It gives an indication of the latest humbug from the right. ---Doug Wiken (The Devil made me post it).

Blowback Blowback
Your Humanitarian Daily Ration of bad vibes... Oh yeah, he does find
the stuff that is strange but reported as if it happened every day...oh,
it was just a big forest fire or reliable sources have determined the
nuclear fallout was not from a dirty bomb..stay tuned. Well, that is
probably unfair. Much more substance here. Take a good look at this
blog site.

CAN'T RESIST 'COMMON SENSE' HERE. GOTTA POST, GOTTA POST
Common Sense and Wonder A blog dedicated to common sense in practical and political matters combined with a sense of wonder of the world around us and the amazing rate of technological change. Skeptics and cynics especially welcome. That's what he says. Not sure however. But the background color of his page does not appear to reflect common sense. [the new colors are a bit strange, but mostly readable--------- Doug Wiken
